Prince George’s County school officials announce Prince George residents who’ve been infected with the coronavirus will receive vaccines
(AP) — Prince George school officials say the countywide school system is implementing a new policy to make sure its students are fully vaccinated before returning home.
The school system says the county has received more than 4,000 complaints about the coronivirus, but that’s the only count of confirmed cases since the virus was declared statewide.
The county says it is currently testing about 800 students.
Prince George School District Superintendent Jim Roush says the district has a full team of virus experts and the school district has had a full review of the data from all its schools.
The district says the students will receive the vaccines they’ve already been vaccinated with, but the district says it has not determined which ones are safe for use.
The district says there are currently four locations in Prince George County that have not received any of the vaccine.
The school district says those locations are not expected to be fully vaccinated until next week.
